I took my first grade class here for a field trip and it was wonderful! Very educational and child-friendly. Karen, our tour guide, was very informative and engaging. Our kids loved it! Beautiful lands, friendly and knowledgeable staff, interactive exhibits. Perfect for a field trip for any age!

A fun and interesting way to kill about an hour or so. Get up and close with local wildlife during this creature feature late mornings. Great for a rainy day but not bad on a sunny one either.

If you do nothing else, go on their wetland walk. There is a cellphone tour, but it is very nice even without that, especially at dusk. And check their schedule for kayak tours! Great gift store. Excellent for kids.

Great place to learn about the ecosystems of the salt marshes. Will definitely visit again.

Every summer when we are in Stone Harbor we venture out to the Wetlands Institute. Every time we go we are wowed by the variety of plant and animal displays and best yet, the Critter talks they give. These short talks are given and feature live animals for kids and adults to experience first hand. This year it was molluscs and my kids held mid snails and they loved it. They have all kind of outdoor education programs as well. The walking trails are also top notch. Worth the trip!
